I have over eight years of extensive and hands-on project experience in planning, scheduling, earn value management (EVMS) per ANSI/EIA-748A standard, risk management, negotiations and project management. I worked in a technical capacity with the product in front end and in back end– this involved doing P6 installation, Oracle database configuration, Oracle database connection using ADO and made global settings that controlled how the product is used, configured the product to provide particular types of metrics reporting. I have hand-on experience to work in front-end and Oracle in back-end.  The front-end provided the capability to create & manage schedules, project plans, etc – this is more of the end user side.  The back-end allows technical personnel to configure the product.

I am currently assigned to Miami-Dade Water and Sewer Department’s (M-DWASD) South Miami Heights Water Treatment Plant. My primary responsibility consists of the following:

 

Reviewing Contractor’s Baseline schedule submissions and providing narrative.

Performing QA/QC on contractor schedule submittals for conformance with contract. Reviewing critical    path, cost     loading, schedule content, use of relationships and lag, constraints and milestones

Performing schedule impact analysis for contractor change orders and conducting schedule negotiations for   contractor change orders. I was previously assigned to Miami International Airport’s North Terminal Development Consolidation Program (NTDCP) that encompassed the construction of a mile-long terminal facility with a construction cost over $3 billions. As part of the program scheduling team I participated in the management and control of the Program Schedule in Primavera P6 Project Management. My responsibilities included the following:

 

Creating and adding fragnets to both Impacted and Updated Master Schedules to reflect monthly fully executed Work Orders and mitigate potential impacts to the program. Activities in fragnets were coded, logically tied and resource loaded.

 

Updating the physical progress (status) and cost progress (resources) of activities.

 

Updating activity resources for each individual trade in an effort to support the cost team with the preparation of the Trade Contractors’ and Managing General Contractor’s Applications for Payment.

 

Preparation of various scheduling reports and layouts such as impacted critical path, updated critical path, sequence-to-milestones and payment applications for the different trades.

Participation at meetings with the trade contractors on a weekly basis to validate the physical progress of projects.

 

Managing and controlling the SWAT Master List, the Rejected Work Order List and the Change Management Summary sheet on a weekly basis as support to the change management team.

 

Managing and controlling approved Work Orders and Change Authorizations.

 

Adding SWAT letters, Task Directives, Work Orders and Change Authorizations to Expedition.

Prior to the above assignment, as a Construction Project Scheduler, I worked on various residential and commercial high rise buildings and multi-unit projects. The schedules ranged from preliminary level (500+ activities) to detailed level (2700+ activities). My duties included the following:

 

Schedule development, management and control using CPM-based Primavera P3 Project Planner software.

 

Performance of bi-weekly or monthly progress updates, and creation of multiple schedule layouts such as management summary, longest path, near critical, look-ahead and individual trades.

 

Performance of periodic visits to the job site to validate physical progress.

Construction Claim Management

 

Concurrent to my schedule responsibilities in the private sector, I served as construction management consultant to the Miami-Dade school board’s outside legal counsel and various private law firms. I provided numerous services as follows:

                           

Performed claim analysis with the assistance of different construction management tools in numerous delay claims, performance & payment bond claims and latent defect claims.

I prepared the master schedule using P6 by defining and sequencing activities, estimating activity resources and activity durations. I control schedule by comparing between new updates and the baseline.

I used P6, v7 software in this project.

        South Miami Heights High Pump Station, Miami, FL. 2010-2012

Miami International Airport, North Terminal Program – Construction Scheduling Contract – Scheduling Support Services. 2008-2009

I was assigned as project scheduler to the program and was responsible for construction scheduling for projects 740A, 779D and 779G. My duties included preparing the baseline schedule; analyzing, updating the construction schedule; requesting weekly reports of the status of construction generated by the trades; and assessing time adherence to contract documents. I also performed risk management and prepared impact schedules as required as the project progresses. I used P6 software in this project.

 

Construction Scheduling Consultant Contract – Scheduling Support Services for State School “SS1”; Miami Dade County Public Schools (MDCPS) 2008-2009

I assisted with this project’s baseline schedule by analyzing, updating and commenting on the construction schedule using Primavera P6; requesting weekly reports of the status of construction generated; and assessing time adherence to contract documents.

 

Construction Scheduling Consultant Contract – Miami International Airport (MIA), FL. 2010

As a Lead Project Controls Engineer, I was responsible for monitoring construction schedules, budgets, and review of claims for the Southern Terminal Program (STP) at Miami International Airport (MIA).  The STP Program is an $800 million program at MIA. I coordinated / supervised one Scheduler and one Cost Engineer. I was the lead in the preparation of budgets, cash flows, and tracking of actual expenditures on the program. I was also responsible for the creation and maintenance of the Airport’s Master Schedule using Primavera P5 and other special assignments.

 

Program Scheduler for the South Terminal Program at Miami International Airport (MIA); Dade Aviation Consultants . 2009

As Lead Project Controls Engineer, I was responsible for monitoring construction schedules, budgets, and review of contractor claims for projects for the South Terminal Program at Miami International Airport.  The South Terminal Program is an $800 million dollar program at Miami International Airport. I coordinated and supervised one Project Scheduler and one Cost Engineer. I was the lead in the preparation of budgets, cash flows, and tracking of actual expenditures on the program. I was also responsible for the creation and maintenance of the Airport’s Master Schedule using Primavera P5 and other special assignments.

I provided scheduling using MS-Project, estimating and claims support for the Aviation Department Facilities Division as well as Miami-Dade County Attorney’s Office.

I was the Lead Project Controls Engineer for this project.  I was in charge of monitoring construction schedules, budgets, and review of contractor claims, attended project meetings and field inspection of progress as well as attended negotiations concerning schedule impacts.

I was the Lead construction inspection engineer and project scheduler for this project.  I defined activities using rolling wave planning, sequenced activities, estimated activity resources, loaded cost. I created resource calendar. I processed changed orders, revised baseline schedule by crashing and fast tracking.

I was a construction project scheduler for the reconstruction of about over two miles highway construction project. I created master schedule using MS-Project, identified and assisted in analysis of project schedule variances, collected and updated data and updated and produced scheduling reports, assisted in the development and maintenance of WBS and helped insure that project coding is effectively used for all cornerstone applications. I used drawings and specifications for schedule development, developed CPM schedule logic using the cornerstone scheduling system and developed logic for elements of the engineering, procurement and construction process. I implemented construction contracting and the scheduling implications of contract terms. I tracked the subcontractor performance. I performed scope control and change management and associated implications to project scheduling. I used earned value methodology. The project was a 347 acres residential development.

 

I developed detailed schedules using MS-Project with all activities associated with assigned projects, produced a coordinated, consistent Critical Path Schedule for entire project, updated periodically, and highlighted any potential problem and optimization areas, implement and updated progress reporting and forecasting system for assigned projects, assisted project manager in presentations/reports and in developing workarounds for project schedule problems.

Florida’s Turnpike Improvement from Sunrise to Atlantic Blvd (with Open Road Tolling), FL

As a project scheduler for reconstruction of six miles Florida’s Turnpike with one interchange and a Toll plaza in the Broward County for Florida’s Turnpike authority using Primavera P6. This project also includes improving the existing Toll Plaza. I initiated the program schedule to monitor and track the progress of the different tasks. 2005-2007

Overall comment:

Try to put more and more Primavera P6. Anywhere you talked about scheduling put scheduled with Primavera P6. In my resume I didn’t put in the beginning then one employer called me and asked me what software you used to schedule. I said Primavera, he said put that Primavera in the resume.
